Avago Technologies announced the ACPL-C797 optically isolated sigma-delta ADC, the product can be used for motor control and current and voltage sensing of power generation applications procedural . ACPL-C797 can meet the growing market requirement for higher top operating temperature, 3.3V compatibility and better accuracy. ACPL-C797 is a major upgrade of Avago about a successful first-generation HCPL-7860 current sense amplifier , After upgrading, the features and specifications include operating temperature range of -40 to 105oC, 5 and 3.3V compatible digital output, lower offset voltage, ± 1% gain accuracy and ± 10% precision clock frequency. Through install the digital filter in FPGA, ASIC or DSP, the serial output is decoded 12-bit effective resolution. In addition, the new isolation amplifier has 78dB signal to noise ratio function, and use the conversion rate control output to lower the EMI to a minimum. The new extended type SO-8 (SSO-8) package can be seen, ACPL-C797 printed circuit board packaging is smaller than that of 30% traditional DIP-8. Even if usin micro-packaging, according to IEC / EN / DIN EN 60747-5-5, UL 1577 and CSA standards, ACPL-C797 can also meet 8mm creepage and clearance requirements to achieve 1140Vpeak working insulation voltage and 5 kVrms / safety of separation voltage requirements.
